Requirements To Study International Relations In Nigeria

To study International Relations in Nigerian institutions, you will have to meet some requirements based on the kind of result you will be using to apply.

O’level Requirements For International Relations 2025/2026

To be eligible for admission into any Nigerian university that offers International Relations, you must meet the O’level requirements for the subject in your secondary school level.

The results of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) or its equivalent, such as the General Certificate of Education (GCE) or the National Examination Council (NECO), will be used to determine the O’level requirements.

For International Relations, the O’level requirements are as follows:

  1. All candidates should have at least Five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects in WAEC/NECO/NABTEB which must include English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Government and Literature.
  2. The above credit passes must be achieved in not more than two sittings of the WAEC/NECO/NABTEB examination.

Direct Entry Requirements For International Relations

Direct Entry admission into Nigerian universities to study International Relations is a way of using either National Diploma (ND) result or Higher National Diploma (HND) result or Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) result to gain admission straight into 200 level without having to write JAMB exam.
