Requirements To Study Nursing In Nigeria

O’level Requirements For Nursing 2025/2026

The results of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) or its equivalent, such as the General Certificate of Education (GCE) or the National Examination Council (NECO), will be used to determine the O’level requirements.

For Nursing, the O’level requirements are as follows:

  1. All candidates should have at least Five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects in WAEC/NECO/NABTEB which must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  2. The above credit passes must be achieved in not more than two sittings of the WAEC/NECO/NABTEB examination.

Direct Entry Requirements For Nursing

Direct Entry admission into Nigerian universities to study nursing is a way of using either National Diploma (ND) result or Higher National Diploma (HND) result or Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) result to gain admission straight into 200 level without having to write JAMB exam.
